any facility, at any level of care, while offering an advanced product line
designed to address research and teaching programs. The 4400 System is the
only endoscope system in the world to offer Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
in each endoscope, and in the processing platforms. This advancement brings
a level of image clarity and resolution unseen in traditional endoscopes.
Offering endoscopes with Fujinon's traditional 410,000 pixel CCD, and
FujiFilm proprietary Super CCD endoscopes, the 4400 System offers a new
level of imaging capability. FujiFilm's proprietary Super CCD brings
megapixel (1 million pixels +) endoscopy to the forefront of the market.

From analog to digital -- state-of-the-art FUJINON technology begins a new endoscopic imaging revolution. The Fujinon 4400 is a fully digital electronic endoscope system capable of vividly depicting the future of endoscopic diagnosis. Advanced processing technology allows the 4400 to retain image fineness and precision picture quality when viewing the most obscure changes in living tissue, or very subtle changes in mucosal detail. The result is a dramatic improvement in quality diagnosis that can be documented and digitally stored on a network, or on a Compact Flash media card inserted into the processor unit.
FICE TM (Fuji Intelligent Color Enhancement)
The next generation of endoscopic imaging, FICE, has arrived with
Fujinon's new EPX-4400 video processor and light source system. FICE
dramatically enhances the appearance of mucosal tissue structures.
(Above an example of EPX-4400 with FICE. In this example, it became
easier to observe characterictics of the mucosal tissue and
capillary orientations became clearer in the cardiac portion of
esophagus.)
Blood Vessel Enhancement Function

Detailed images of vein patterns are useful for advanced diagnosis of alimentary canals. The Blood Vessel Enhancement Function improves the projection and clarity of vein patterns.
Automatic Light Control (ALC) Illumination Adjustment Function
The 4400 employs Fujinon's unique new form of automatic light control. This new advanced system reduces light halation and provides images that are easier on the physician's eyes.
